Scandinavians have a traditional love of wood, and our buildings are filled with wood-based products. But whereas wood is a fantastic material suited for many applications, some conditions found in many of our buildings are too challenging for wood doors to prevail, year in and year out. Modern buildings require new solutions.
The KIAS doors, manufactured by Kvanne Industrier AS in the rugged and moist north-western part of Norway, are designed and suited to offer a sustainable alternative for such conditions. The doors are made from glass fiber reinforced plastics (GRP) and Norwegian aluminium, and together with the PUR foam insulation and stainless steel hinges, handles and lock sets, the extremely light doors can withstand the most demanding conditions one will encounter.
The KIAS doors come with the industry leading 30 years guarantee against moisture and rot damages, and the doors also have good resistance to fire and can be made from antibacterial surface panels. The doors come in a variety of surface and frame designs as well as colors, and typical usages include kitchens and laboratories, public and hotel bathrooms, food industry sites, and land and sea farming facilities.
The durability of the KIAS doors is good not only for the customers’ total cost calculation, but also for our environment. The fact that many customers find they can postpone replacing by many years, also means less resources used both for manufacturing, transportation and installation of the doors. And when a KIAS door eventually comes to the end of its lifetime, Kvanne Industries offers – as another first – to collect the doors from the customers, to ensure the optimal reuse and/or recycling of the door components.
